Join the Women's Centre of Calgary for Women Outside, an evening of discussion and connection for women passionate about enjoying outdoor spaces in and around Calgary. Hosted as a part of our Women and Environment Discussion series, Women Outside will feature presentations from women in Calgary's outdoor community. Join us to get hyped by inspiring presentations, and note we will have plenty of opportunity for participants to connect with other women interested in outdoor pursuits. Whether you're crushing it outside on a weekly basis, or are new to the world of outdoor fun, this event is for you!

Yeah, What She Said is celebrating black histories, presents and futures with a love letter to black people.  Starting with Adora Nwofor's keynote speech on growing up with the racism dream in Calgary at a Diversity Days Event and wrapping up with some #blackgirlmagic music.

Action Dignity is hosting a panel to centre Black folks within conversations of intersectionality, display the intersectionality that exists within the Black community, and reclaim the term intersectionality.

We're celebrating women's accomplishments everywhere with a potluck, dancing and door prizes! Bring food if you can. All ages and genders are welcome.

Sable Sweetgrass is a mother, a writer/storyteller and a member of the Kainai Nation in Southern Alberta. She was born and raised in Calgary/Mohkinstsis and has worked in Indigenous art and culture within various organizations in the city.

When it comes to the subject of root causes, most would agree that the root causes of poverty are a mix of individual and systemic problems.

Canadians visited food banks 1.1 million times in March 2018
The driving factor behind food bank use is poverty. Economic disruptions, low incomes, and government policies that don't provide adequate support are what keep the number of food bank users persistently and unacceptably high.
