Principal's Message

Families-

We want you to have the state testing dates on your calendars.  Please note that testing will be held in the classrooms on Chromebooks, to replicate the most natural learning environment. Please note all testing will take place in the morning.

3rd grade:  Week of April 29 - May 3
4th grade:  Week of May 6 - 10
5th grade: Week of May 6 - 10
5th grade science state test:  Monday May 13
Miss Logan's Class:  May 13 - 17
Miss Logan's class science test:  May 20

We respectfully request that your child be in school, rested, and on time and that you save appointments for non-testing dates.  We do know emergencies occur and things come up so, please let the office and your child's teacher know of any potential absences as soon as possible.  We can test a child in advance or do make-ups for illnesses if necessary.

Thank you to Murwood  PTA for sponsoring a viewing of "Screenagers Growing Up in the Digital Age" and the impact of parenting in this time. Special thanks to Kelly Durflinger for facilitating the discussion after the movie. It is our goal to uphold the parent education portion of the PTA mission.

Thank you so much.

Murwood Principal
News From the Office

Late pick ups after school are on the rise.  Students are supervised at the pick up line until 2:40 after which time they are brought to the office. Please note that the office does not provide after school supervision. Please be on time to pick up your students or make arrangements with Keyspot on a drop-in basis to cover your needs.  As a courtesy, the office greatly appreciates a phone call in the event you are going to be late.

Thank you,
Nancy Kaye

Walnut Creek Education Foundation (WCEF)

Did You Know?
California ranks 41st in per student funding. While we can't change that number, we can control some of our local funding woes. WCEF exists to offset the funding imbalance . The Foundation strives to ensure your children, and all children, are receiving the most comprehensive and competitive education possible. Your donations make a difference. YOU make a difference. If you haven't made a donation this school year, you will receive a postcard in the coming week. Consider giving a gift in any amount to provide our students with the best funded education possible.
