Highlights of Presentation and Discussion Items


The following items were presented to the Board:
Finance Report -
As of March 31, 2019 the Board learned the system is at 83.56  percent for the budget year. The Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax revenues for March 2019 were up 10.03 percent from 2018 collections and down 6.21 percent from last month. A financial statement, investment reports, and bond summaries were also shared, as well as a detailed capital projects analysis. 
ARC Presentation - 
Forsyth County adopted the American Reading Company for literacy beginning with Kindergarten in the fall of 2018.  The program has been a success.  The partnership of schools, families, and community is essential for developing literate learners.   The next step is to add 1st and 3rd grades for 2019-2020.

Action Items
The following item was approved:

Forsyth Virtual Academy Program Change -

The Board approved by unanimous vote the change for Forsyth Virtual from a school to a program to better serve students.
