You can help build the Squannacook River Rail Trail - volunteer on Saturday Oct 19th
9 am - 1 pm
We have been waiting years to start building this rail trail - be there as it all begins!
Help up starting building the Squannacook River Rail Trail by clearing brush where wattles will be placed on the follow-up volunteer day Nov. 2. Please bring work gloves, and if you have them, brush clippers or pruning saws to clear brush in preparation for wattles to be installed. If have a chain saw and have been certified, those are welcome too if you bring safety equipment and your certification. Please come also if you don't have tools, because we need lots of people to remove the brush others cut.  We need to clear room for over 4000 feet of wattles so we really need everyones help!

Meet at 9 am at the town parking lot on Jefts St behind Memorial Hall in Townsend, MA.

Rail date Sunday Oct 20 from 9 am to 1 pm.

Volunteer day 2: Sat Nov 2 9:00 - 1:00 - Wattles installation

And don't forget our second volunteer day!  Help up starting building the Squannacook River Rail Trail by installing straw wattles in the areas of the rail trail near wetlands.  Please bring work gloves and a hammer for putting in wooden stakes.  If you can bring a wheelbarrow, that would be helpful for carrying the wattles to where they will be installed.  We have over 4000 feet of wattles to install, so we really need your help!
