Fureai Program

Christ Episcopal Church

(Redondo Beach)

The Fureai (connectedness) program began as a way to bring not only church members but community members together weekly to socialize with each other - and it is all thanks to a 93-year-old gentleman, who many credit for the program's creation.

Otomodachi Outreach Program

First Presbyterian Church Altadena (Pasadena)

The Otomodachi Outreach Program reconnected members of the congregation who had not seen each other in years. And it all began with a phone book. Currently, the program hosts monthly events and activities to keep older adults active and engaged.
