Opera: Usual Suspects;
The Ancient Greeks were first!

We start setting the stage at the Pitti Palace in Florence on October 6 th 1600, the birth date of opera and the performance art form as we know it today. Preparations are well under way for the wedding of Maria de Medici and King Henry IV of France.

Note-Able Person -
Mary Petro Noonan

Twenty years ago, a young lyric soprano from Chicago decided to make Fairfield County her home. We are so glad she did.

We got to chat with Mary about her opera career, her life, and all that she does for the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra.

SYMPHONY PEDIA
