WCA Ambassadors - We Need YOU!

Thank you for the response so far. We are looking for a few more volunteers. Do you love WCA? Are you always telling your friends and family about our amazing school? We need YOU! We are looking for a group of WCA parents to act as WCA Ambassadors to promote our school within the community. Responsibilities would include: "liking" and sharing WCA Facebook/Instagram posts, hosting information tables at community events, handing out WCA swag, displaying the WCA window decal on your car, etc. All of your time would count towards your family's 15 hour volunteer requirement.

Complete this  FORM if you are interested. Please note that your name and contact information will be shared with WCA staff and parent volunteers. Thank you!

DCSD Art Show

The District Art Show was a HUGE success! It was so exciting to see the artwork of some of our talented students representing our school! We had three students from the ENTIRE Castle Rock Feeder area win ribbons. Harper G. in 2nd grade won a 1st place ribbon for her ceramic bug sculpture, Lena N. in 2nd grade won an "Honorable Mention" with her ceramic bug sculpture, and Allison C. in 3rd grade won a 3rd place ribbon with her mixed media sculpture! Congratulations!

If your student's artwork was represented at the District Art Show, they will receive an award at the end of the year awards assemblies in May.

-Ms. Pizzano

A Note from the Social Worker

Your child's safety is important in and out of school. That is why I am sharing this resource from  Committee for Children, the organization that makes the  Second Step social-emotional learning program we use here at WCA.

Research shows that talking to your kids about sexual abuse, touching, and private body
parts can help keep them safe. This is a scary subject, but talking about it shouldn't be.  HotChocolateTalk.org is a free, research-based resource that provides the facts, tips, and talking points that can help you start this critical safety conversation.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Learn how you can help prevent abuse at  HotChocolateTalk.org.

Sincerely,
Lindsay Wonstolen, MSW
School Social Worker

  • Primary students will learn about what the job is and why it is important to the community.
  • Elementary students will learn what the job is and what skills are involved in doing it.
  • Middle schoolers will learn not only about the job, but also the education necessary for the career.

We are hoping to have many different professions represented for the students.
