Maundy Thursday Soup Supper
You are invited to share a simple soup supper this evening before the Holy Thursday service with fellow parishioners. Volunteers are needed to set-up and clean up, make coffee, make soup, bring bread, or dessert. Please join us at 6:30 pm.
The Parish office will be closed on Easter Monday, April 22. Father David will be away April 22-30.
It Is Not Too Late! - Heifer contributions will be happily received for two more weeks. Just place them in the alms basin. Remember that checks are made out to Good Shepherd, with HEIFER on the memo line. Many thanks to all who brought forth your Heifer boxes, bags, and checks on Palm Sunday. Did you see Deena's big smile!
Monday, April 29
: Support Good Shepherd by eating lunch or dinner at California Pizza Kitchen at Montgomery Mall (7101 Democracy Blvd., Bethesda) anytime between 11 am and 10 pm that day. Good Shepherd keeps 20% of whatever parishioners spend that day at the restaurant. RSVP at this link
https://www.groupraise.com/events/93822
. Mention Good Shepherd at the restaurant so that our church gets 20% back on what you spend. Contact Patty Mitchell if you have questions.
Farewell to Shawn
. Our last day with Shawn Evelyn, our Seminarian, will be Sunday, May 5. Please join us for a special coffee hour on that date to celebrate his ministry with us. You may also contribute to Shawn's parting gift by writing a check to Good Shepherd with "Seminarian" on the memo line. If you have questions, please see Donna Clemons-Sacks or Ray Groshong.
Sunday May 5 - Pizza and Bingo. Join us after Shawn's farewell coffee hour for pizza and games in the Parish Hall.
Vegetable Plant Sale on May 5 It's gardening time! On Sunday, May 5 after both services we'll have 200 choice vegetable plants at church ready to adopt --fifteen varieties of tomatoes, plus ornamental and edible peppers, cucumbers, eggplants, and zucchini. Come take your pick and make a donation. 100% of donations will go to Good Shepherd! Questions? Contact Shaun Hardy or Allen Wyrick.
Saint Luke Food Pantry
- Our Easter celebration goes for 40 days. One way to celebrate is to contribute nutritious staples to help others feast with full plates. Thank you.
New Helpers in April Step Forward to Serve Dinner at Shepherd's Table and to Prepare Bag Lunches - Your Social Ministries Planning Team is thrilled and grateful for your participation in these hands-on opportunities.
