We will be closed on Monday May 25th for the Memorial Day holiday. All orders and inquiries from over the long weekend will be taken care of when we return on May 26th. We hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. Be smart, be safe.
Funimation's distribution partner reopened their warehouse this week and we have started to receive product shipments again. Yeah! I expect them to be caught up with both catalog shipments and new releases in a couple of weeks.
We also got word from Eastern Star that they have restocked quite a few of their titles that have been on backorder for awhile. Yeah! We should be getting a couple of big restock shipments from them next week and will be filling your backorders as the material arrives.
We added a few more items at great prices to our Funimation liquidation list this week, stuff from shows like Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card, ISLAND, Mobile Suit Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans, Fuuka, etc. Be sure to check it out!

A COUPLE NOTES ABOUT CARRIER DELAYS
During the pandemic some USPS sort facilities are having to temporarily close and whenever there is a closure, mail in transit gets re-routed around that facility to another one. So because of that we've been seeing a few of our USPS parcels go on the grand tour. One standard mail parcel can be delivered in a few days, and another one can take up to 2 weeks for delivery. The lack of regular scan data in route that accompanies this is also annoying. From time to time we have been seeing an in transit sort scan, and then the parcel is not scanned again until it actually goes out for delivery. Patience is the key here.
I also should mention that both UPS and FedEx pre-clear their international parcels at facilities in New York and New Jersey which operations have been effected by the pandemic as well, so it's taking longer for parcels to clear customs on their way out of the country. We are seeing customs facility delays from a couple of days up to two weeks in some cases. In the postal system as well, especially with mail parcels going to Canada and Australia. Not to be cliche, but it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. ;-)
So if you are tracking your parcel and it misses the estimated delivery date, hang in there, it is on the way and will find it's way to you soon enough. If you think there is an issue with a delivery or have any questions, just reach out to us and we'll see what we can do. Sometimes when a parcel gets stuck in sort we can 'shake the tree' from our end and get it moving again.

A report from earlier in May details that Crunchyroll parent company AT&T had discussions to sell the anime streaming company to Sony, the parent company of rival anime streaming service Funimation. The report details that "AT&T's WarnerMedia has had discussions about selling Crunchyroll." They speculate that the reason for possibly selling the company might have been to reduce debt. The company had been under pressure from shareholder Elliot Management to reduce their debt over the past year.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported that its officers seized 86,400 Pokémon figures in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania last Wednesday. The shipment, which arrived from Hong Kong and labeled as "plastic furnishing articles," contained 15 boxes of figures that were appraised to have a value of US$603,936 if they were authentic. The shipment was seized not only for violating U.S. intellectual property rights but because the small figures represented a choking hazard for young children. Additionally, the CBP reported that counterfeit toys tend to be coated in potentially dangerous levels of lead paint, although no lead testing was conducted on the toys in question. The parcel was destined to an address in Snyder County, Pennsylvania.
And finally, the coronavirus has claimed yet another convention as Gen Con was cancelled for 2020, Alongside the cancellation of the 2020 show, the Pop-Up events to accompany it were also cancelled.
