A WEEKLY CONVERSATION WITH THE PASTOR

Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.  John 13:34

Jesus says these words prior to entering his passion.  We read them during our Maundy Thursday worship.  He says, "Everyone will know you are my disciples if you have love for one another." This is the defining act that connects us with Jesus' and his ministry. God's love so affects and transforms our lives that it flows from our being and in our ministry together.

We have come to the central moments of Jesus' life: the Triduum (the Great Three Days of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil).  We remember the events of Jesus' death and celebrate the triumph of his rising from the dead on Easter morning.  When we participate in the remembering of these events and the hearing of God's Word, we experience the powerful presence of Christ that gives us new life!

We have lots of opportunity to remember Jesus this week!  It is such a privilege and joy for me to share with you this very special time. Through our worship and fellowship may God's Spirit transform, empower, inspire, and renew our lives!

See you in church!
Pastor Gillikin
