Volunteers make a difference...

lives on the family homestead in Iosco Township that he was raised on. He married Beth in 1970 and they helped to raise 76 foster children. They two sons, one by birth and one by adoption.
What inspired you to start volunteering with LCCC?
“I have always been a volunteer, whether it was Relay for Life, blood drives, or helping with church activities. I am especially active with LCCC since I had been on the Board of Directors for nine years. During that time I had discovered all the things LCCC is actively doing in the community. Once I retired from General Motors in 2015 I began volunteering more with LCCC.”
What volunteer role do you fill?
“Currently I provide transportation for people who need rides for doctor appointments, buying groceries, hair appointments, banking or just running errands. I also help with the Christmas baskets, both in stuffing and delivering the baskets to the needy. I also serve on the Fund Development committee for LCCC.”
What personal value do you get from the experience?
“It is said it's better to give then receive. I enjoy giving myself to the people that need help or assistance. Since I am retired it also gets me out of the house.”
