DeSoto ISD Closed Indefinitely

Per the
executive order issued by Governor Greg Abbott,
DeSoto ISD buildings, campuses and facilities will remain closed indefinitely. The district will continue to provide instruction through the
Anytime, Anywhere Learning Plan
and operate remotely during this time. All students and staff are expected to continue their respective work during this time and through the end of the school year unless otherwise notified by district leadership.

DeSoto ISD will continue to provide virtual educational experiences and resources through the
Anytime, Anywhere Learning Plan.
While early phases of the district’s learning plan were centralized, the Anytime, Anywhere Learning Plan provides a district-guided framework for flexible, consistent and continual high-quality, localized instruction facilitated by your child’s teacher in the digital space.

STUDENT/STAFF HOLIDAY:
April 10 & April 13
|
In observance and Good Friday and Easter, DeSoto ISD will be closed on Friday, April 10 and Monday, April 13, for a student & staff holiday as previously scheduled in the
2019-2020 Academic Calendar.
The district will resume operating virtually on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.

Board Elections Postponed
|
At the special called meeting on Monday, March 30 2020, the DeSoto ISD Board of Trustees unanimously passed
Resolution 20-04
changing the date of the May 2 election to November 3,2020. Additionally, early voting dates have changed.

|
|
In an effort to reach its district goals, focusing on the future and continuing to provide high-quality instruction to its students, DeISD has been awarded two grants totaling more than $175,000.
DeSoto ISD has been named a recipient of the 2019-2021 School Safety and Securities grant by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and the highly-competitive Educate Texas System-Wide Planning grant.

The DeSoto ISD Child Nutrition Department will be serving free Grab & Go Meals to children under the age of 18 to ensure greater access to daily meals in the community in light of the continuing shelter-in-place ordinance in Dallas County due to Covid-19. The meals will be provided from 9am – 1pm, Monday – Friday at the following locations:
- Amber Terrace DECA (via Food Truck)
- Cockrell Hill Elementary
- The Meadows Elementary
- Frank Moates Elementary
- Ruby Young Elementary
- Woodridge Elementary
- DeSoto High School - (Freshman Campus Side)

Pre - K Enrollment Now Online
|
This year's Pre-K Roundup has been moved totally ONLINE! DeSoto ISD offers two early childhood programs, at Amber Terrace Discovery & Design Early Childhood Academy. Our PreK-3 for children that will be 3 years of age on or before September 1, 2020 and our PreK-4 for children that will be 4 years of age on or before September 1, 2020. Interested in enrolling your 3 or 4 year old in Pre-K at DeSoto ISD?
