ASF Sponsors Rockland Autism Symposium
for 10th Consecutive Year

The Autism Science Foundation was proud to sponsor the Rockland Autism Symposium for the 10th consecutive year.

The Rockland County Autism Symposium is an annual day-long learning event for special education teachers, regular education teachers, parents and other stakeholders. Each year, presenters are researchers, officials, and professionals that speak on the most current topics regarding autism.

This year ASF Chief Science Officer, Dr. Alycia Halladay, gave a presentation with Dr. Matthew Lerner, Associate Professor, Clinical Psychology Stony Brook University, entitled "Getting People with Autism to Work; What Teachers Need to Know."  The presentation was based on the Employment Policy Brief published last year, written in part by Drs. Halladay and Lerner.  You can download it here.

Over 600 people attended the Rockland Symposium in Pearl River, NY

New Study on CBD and Autism Enrolling Families

Families interested in the use of cannabidiol, or CBD, for treatment of their own or their child's autism symptoms may want to consider enrolling in a new scientific research study at New York University.

The study is currently enrolling families affected by both autism and high levels of irritability.  People will be enrolled for about 3 months and have access to either CBD or a control treatment.
