This week, Ezekiel gets some pretty stern marching orders from God; Paul makes a pitch for the rule of Love, and in Matthew, an anachronistic Jesus comments on church policy and practice. Very interesting...

As always, we will open the worship space at 9:45 AM to give everyone a chance to do a little greeting before the service begins at 10. And, we will once again be called into silent reflection before the service begins.

Announcements
Hurricane Laura slammed into the Gulf Coast last week, which was the same week that marked the 15-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Episcopal Relief & Development is in constant communication with the impacted dioceses working to reach vulnerable populations devastated by the storm. Donate today to support these efforts.

TONIGHT, we will gather - virtually - to test our knowledge of all things trivial. Our game begins at 7 PM.
'A Patchwork Quiz' is the working title for this month's intellectual exercise, and as the name implies, it will be a veritable potpourri of topics and categories (signifying nothing)
The game room will open at 6:40 so you have time to register your team or individual 'trivia' name and do some last minute posturing and/or trash talking with your opponents.

Here is the link, your key to an evening of trivial frivolity:

On your laptop, pc, or other smart device, click on this link:

If you are joining over the Zoom app, enter the meeting ID and password when prompted:
Meeting ID: 854 2143 1414
Password: 018091

Feel free to invite friends and family to play. Please have them contact us at allsaints1692@allsaints1692.org so we can identify them when they arrive for the quiz. And, before the game, please check out the specials at the Scorpion Brewery in Owings - our partner in trivia for going on six years. Through our monthly contests, we have raised thousands of dollars in support of youth leadership development in Calvert County, and also money to feed hungry families and individuals in our communities.

“We Love Calvert Arts Festival $10K Benefit for Children”

The countdown to our $10K Benefit for Children began on September 1st. During the month of September, we are promoting our loyal artisans on Calvert Arts Festival (CAF) social media - (https://www.facebook.com/calvertartsfestival), suggesting that folks visit their websites (or contact them directly) to safely shop beautiful one-of-a-kind arts and crafts.  We need your help to publicize All Saints’/CAF support of local businesses on social media. Several artisans will be featured on the CAF Facebook page each day. You can help us support these businesses by taking a few moments every day to go to the CAF Facebook page. “Love” the post, “Like” the artisan’s Facebook page, make a quick comment and share the post. Of course, emailing the flyer out to your friends, family, neighbors, etc., with encouragement will help to ensure a successful ”We Love Calvert Arts Festival $10K Benefit for Children”.

Stay-tuned for more fundraising details throughout the month!

PLEASE NOTE AND RESPECT
Parish buildings are not open now, and only individuals specifically authorized for an essential service may be in them (e.g., Heartfelt food packing). Those authorized individuals must wear masks, must practice social distancing and must sanitize touch areas as they enter and as they leave. This is not a matter of personal choice and applies to everyone including volunteers, business suppliers, and contract personnel. If you note a deviation you may politely remind the individual. If you are not comfortable doing that or doing so doesn’t correct the problem, please contact a church officer. There is now a sign in sheet at both entrances. Please fill it out with your name, date and time in/out of the parish hall. Thank you.
The Connections Commission has almost completed the task of gathering information for our upcoming new and improved website. We are now in the process of gathering pictures to use and need your help. We are looking for photos, both current and historical, and hope that you can help us.  If you have any pictures that you would like to share - on your phone, stored on your computer or in albums, bags and boxes - that are related to all things All Saints, please scan and send to the Connections Commission (allsaints1692connections@gmail.com). If you cannot scan or send them, please let us know and we can arrange to make copies for the photos you have to share. Thanks, in advance, for sharing!
Reminder From the News Team. Info and flyers to be published in the October monthly newsletter needed to be received via email by Wednesday, September 23. Please send information to allsaints1692@allsaints1692.org AND allsaints1692connections @gmail.com. This allows time for editing and clarification when needed. Please submit your event in the form you wish it to appear and complete. Example: If it's a cooking show, please include the recipe with the copy.
