Marceaux to perform Sept. 30, 2021
at Hagerstown Community College
Hagerstown Community College will host Marceaux on Thursday, September 30, at 7 p.m., in the Kepler Theater.
Marceaux synchronously combines classical, jazz, and other genres into entertaining and affecting musical performances. Danny Webber (guitar), Candice Mowbray (guitar) and Anita Thomas (woodwinds) bring their unique individual experiences into creative collaboration as they perform classic and contemporary music, their own arrangements, and original compositions. Webber is an associate professor of music at HCC and Mowbray is a part-time music instructor at HCC.
From the energy of Khachaturian's "Masquerade Waltz" to the joy of Ralph Towner's "Icarus," the nostalgia of classic French melodies, and the evocation of landscapes in Thomas' original composition, "Australian Mood," audiences are led on an inspiring musical journey.
Sponsored by the HCC Robinwood Players Theater Club and funded by the Maryland State Arts Council, this event is free and open to the public. Masks are required. For more information, contact Danny Webber at 240-500-2406. To learn more about the band, visit www.candicemowbray.com/marceaux.

The Washington County Playhouse Dinner Theater is holding AUDITIONS for SHOUT!! THE MOD MUSICAL on Sunday, September 19. Sign-in begins at 2:00pm. Auditions begin at 2:30pm. Auditions will be held at The Playhouse which is located at 44 North Potomac Street, Rear in the heart of Hagerstown's Arts and Entertainment District and City Center.
With its irresistible blend of hip-swiveling hits, eye-popping fashions and outrageous dance moves, SHOUT! The Mod Musical takes audiences back to the music, style, and freedom of the 1960s.
SHOUT!! follows five groovy gals as they come of age during those glorious days that made England swing. Traveling in time from 1960 to 1970, SHOUT! chronicles the dawning liberation of women, from the rise of Dusty Springfield, Petula Clark and Cilla Black as independent women with major careers, to their American counterparts, redefining themselves in the face of changing attitudes about gender. With a shimmy and shake, the songs are tied together by hilarious sound bites from the period – from '60s advertisements to letters answered by an advice columnist who thinks that every problem can be solved with a "fetching new hair style and a new shade of lipstick."
This production will be directed & choreographed by Kelly Jenkins Moreland with music direction by Tyler Miller. All roles are open. Must be 16+ to audition.
Please prepare 16 bars of a song in the style of the show. You may also be asked to learn/sing a song from SHOUT!!, so familiarity with the cast recording is highly encouraged, but not required. Be prepared to perform cold readings from the script. There may also be a dance audition, so please bring or wear clothes that you can move in and that show our choreographer how you move. Please also bring jazz/character shoes if you have them.
All performers will be paid a per-performance stipend. Additionally, those cast will be given the opportunity to join the restaurant service staff (if legally eligible and following training) where they may earn gratuities.
Performance Dates (all performances in the evening unless specified): January 21, 22, 28, 29, February 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 26, & 27 (matinee).

EAGLEMANIA-THE WORLD’S GREATEST EAGLES TRIBUTE
Sunday, September 19, 2021---7:00 PM
Formed in 2010, EagleMania has emerged as a major act throughout the country, performing to sold out audiences everywhere they go. The music of the Eagles appeals to a wide variety of age groups, and the combination of heartfelt ballads, rock anthems laden with guitar harmonies, and the unmistakable sound of vocal harmonies as only the Eagles can do, has propelled the band for the past 40-plus years, positioning them as one of the most successful and popular bands in music history.
EagleMania performs all of the hits of the Eagles, as well as Don Henley, Glen Frey, and Joe Walsh’s solo albums. Their attention to detail and their ability to reproduce the Eagles exactly leaves their fans with an experience that they do not soon forget. People often remark that if they closed their eyes they would think they were listening to the actual Eagles live in concert.

The band consists of an ensemble of veteran musicians whose goal is to faithfully reproduce the Eagle’s repertoire, music they love to sing and play, always committed to giving their audience a perfect show every time they take the stage.
