Clearwater Project Update
Here’s the latest on construction :

  • Installation of the ground monitoring instrumentation on North Gaffey Street is expected to be completed in October.
  • TBM testing is in the final stages, with tunneling scheduled to start within the next 2 weeks.
  • Concrete wall segments for the initial tunneling were delivered to the site. Segment fabrication in Palmdale is ongoing.

48-UNIT AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECT IN SAN PEDRO

In Downtown San Pedro, a new affordable housing development from SoLa Impact is staring to take shape.

The project, which broke ground earlier this year at 569-571 W. 6th Street, will replace an optometrist's office and a small restaurant with a four-story building featuring 48 apartments, all of which would be reserved for households earning at or below 30 percent of the area median income. Plan to House LA Virtual Public Hearing Sept. 21
This is your opportunity to give a public comment on the Draft 2021-2029 Housing Element. The City is also soliciting comments on the targeted update to the Safety Element, and amendments to the Health and Wellness Element, or Plan for a Healthy LA.  

A full revised draft of all documents will be released ahead of the hearing in September. Prior to the public hearing, staff will give a short presentation highlighting changes to the documents that have occurred since the last draft was released in early July. For information on the draft plans please view the Draft Housing and Safety Element webinar.
