Important Vaccination Policy Update:
September 20, 2021 Deadline
The University of Windsor announced a mandatory vaccine policy that went into effect this past Tuesday, September 7, 2021. This policy applies to all staff, faculty, students, and visitors.

Our main priority is campus safety, and the intention of the policy is to encourage a higher rate of vaccination on our campus.

All staff, students, and faculty, regardless of their vaccination status, may continue using the rapid antigen screening program to attend campus through until September 20, 2021.

After September 20, 2021, all those who wish to access campus, must:

  • be fully vaccinated
  • be partially vaccinated (as per the policy definition) and participating in the rapid antigen testing program
  • have an approved exemption in accordance with the vaccination policy to participate in the rapid antigen testing program
  • have submitted an exemption request in accordance with the vaccination policy and are awaiting a determination of their request and participating in the rapid antigen testing program

Clearly stated, all others will not be permitted to access campus or access the rapid antigen testing program after September 20, 2021.

For staff and faculty who do not fall into one of the above categories after September 20, they will be deemed to have made themselves unavailable for work and will not be permitted to access campus and may be placed on an unpaid leave of absence.

For students who do not fall into one of the above categories after September 20, they will not be permitted to access campus. This will affect their ability to participate in on-campus events or attend in-person classes or labs. Students will need to contact their undergraduate program coordinator for any curriculum concerns this may cause.

Request for Exemptions to the Vaccine Policy

Exemptions to the vaccine policy can be requested for medical reasons or under the ground of Creed (or religion) protected under the Ontario Human Rights Code. Exemptions requests must be received no later than September 20, 2021.

Those whose applications for exemption have been approved in accordance with the vaccine policy will be provided with an accommodation to participate in the University’s rapid antigen testing program to access campus. There is no exemption from the testing protocols under this policy.
