Dear Roslyn Families,
The outlines of reopening schedules that I shared with you a few days ago are still in development. The Governor has not definitely decided that schools will even be open in the fall, let alone has the state given its approval for any particular reopening model. What will be submitted to the state will be the assurances to the governor that if he determines to open the school we would be able to comply with the CDC guidelines. Since March, we have worked with the entire school community in order to assure compliance with the ever-changing guidelines.
My purpose in sharing the plans with you at this time is so that parents can gain a greater understanding of the models under which we may be operating in the fall and throughout the coming school year. One of the reasons why this situation is so challenging is because, while my instincts are to be open, transparent, and decisive, the ground is constantly shifting beneath our feet. All of our plans are subject to change at a moment's notice, depending on factors beyond our control, and I don't want to cause additional confusion by providing information that may be out of date as soon as it is communicated. There is still time before school is scheduled to open and, as we have learned over the last few months, the situation is very unpredictable.
The following meetings will be hosted by our Parent-Faculty Association so that I can provide you with additional information and answer your questions about these prospective plans. (The same information will be presented at the day and evening meetings.)
