Cornerstones is among 10 local nonprofits included in a $5 million initiative!
This month, Amazon launched an employee match campaign to encourage their employees to donate to 20 select nonprofits addressing housing and homelessness in the company's two headquarter regions. Cornerstones was named one of 10 local nonprofits benefiting from Amazon's new initiative.  Through September 30, 2019, the company is set to match one-for-one employee donations up to $5 million collectively.

"This is an extraordinary new opportunity to help every Amazon employee fulfill their vision for investing in the strength and stability of our community," notes Kerrie Wilson, CEO of Cornerstones. "Cornerstones is honored to be chosen for Amazon's pilot program, and to do so alongside our partners in the region. We are confident that our collaborative effort will result in even greater community volunteerism, support, and advocacy so our Northern Virginia community remains an extraordinary place to live and work."
If you are an Amazon employee, now is the time give generously to Cornerstones.
Your generous support will help local families, individuals, and seniors achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance.
Helping Local Families Thrive

With deep roots in the Dulles corridor, Cornerstones has been
at the forefront of di srupting this region's root causes of homelessness, poverty, and inequality and helping our community's most vulnerable individuals and families.

Learn how Patricia and her daughter avoided homelessness, thanks to our donors' generous support of our unique wrap-around services programs.

YOU make our work possible - Thank you!

Thank You & Farewell to Small Change
In 1981, three young mothers opened Small Change, a local consignment shop for children's clothes, toys, and baby gear located in the Lake Anne Plaza, to help build a warm, welcoming sense of community for families. For more than 38 years, the shop has endured and prospered as a staple resource and received numerous accolades, including among the first group of Best of Reston Award winners in 1992.

Still operated by one of the original founder and one of Cornerstones former Board Chair, Susann Gerstein, recently announced it was time to close its doors.

A special Community Farewell will be held on Saturday, June 29 from 9:00am - 9:00pm.  Please be sure to stop by, shop, and share your memories of supporting Small Change as a vital and welcoming small business in our community.

Thank you to Small Change for being such a vital community asset and for all the support given to Cornerstones over the years. You will be missed!
