Vision:
Knowing we are One, we celebrate peace,
compassion, and equality for all.
Mission:
We empower people to live thriving spiritual lives.
From the Minister

Dear Unity Family,

One hundred years ago this month women won passage of the 19th Amendment. Indeed it was suffragists who were the first White House protestors by putting everything on the line during a world war AND a flu pandemic.

They protested. They picketed. And they were imprisoned for their efforts to secure the right to vote.
But facing these struggles didn’t stop them from unfurling a banner insisting of Woodrow Wilson, “MR. PRESIDENT, HOW LONG MUST WOMEN WAIT FOR LIBERTY?”

And so, as Americans mark a century since this struggle, let us just check in with ourselves.

We’ve come a long way… maybe? Today, less than 25% of elected officials in Congress are women. Workplace equality, educational equity, and women’s health issues are areas in which women continue to work toward establishing a level playing field.

On a personal note, I am grateful to be in a movement that honors and ordains women. There are still too few major religious organizations in the U.S. that ordain women and allow them to hold top leadership positions including some of the largest denominations such as our brothers and sisters in the Roman Catholic Church and the Southern Baptist Convention.

Fortunately, we have Scripture to help us remember the Truth of who we are: “God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” (Gen. 1:27)

If you’d like to learn more about the Women’s Vote Centennial have fun exploring this site!
There is much for which to be hopeful. We are the ones.

In Love and Unity,
Rev. Anne Tabor

Unity of Arlington recently applied for and received a PPP loan from the government stimulus program in the amount of $19,900. At this time it is still considered a loan from the government. If we are able to get loan forgiveness, which we are fully expecting to accomplish, then it will no longer be considered a loan but a gift that does not need to be repaid. We will keep you posted as to the current status of these funds.

YOUR COMMUNITY
Volunteer Opportunities and Services
The Infinite is found in every aspect of life, therefore you will find stories and courses here that lead you to reflecting, questioning, and exploring a variety of themes and perspectives, which, we trust, will expand your awareness, build on your knowledge, and support you in living your best life.

You can enrich your spiritual journey by engaging in online classes. Spiritual Explorers offers both self-paced and live versions, in a range of topics. Some of the offerings are going on now and some are scheduled for the near-future. Below are just a few descriptions of available classes. For more detailed information, please click HERE
Make Peace With Your Religious Past

In this self-paced online course, you will be supported to do some inner “house cleaning" around your religious past. If the religion you grew up in no longer fits you or you are wounded by a past church experience, if you’re currently questioning or feel held back by old beliefs that no longer serve you, then this workshop will help you find greater peace. Using practical and proven tools, this program provides a safe, and structured program."
Energy Sparks

Energy Sparks fuel you through both the smooth paths and the taxing terrain of living. Like a deep cleansing breath, Energy Sparks kindle new life into your Being! Allow them to ignite your vast potential, while enabling you to live more purposefully, mindfully, and joyfully.

As our country and the world navigates the current coronavirus pandemic, as well as other challenging issues, Energy Sparks is offered to serve as beacons of light for us to move through the uncharted waters.
Dark Matters

The experience of light and dark is a part of every human journey, to one degree or another. Our culture teaches us to fear the experience of the dark, especially that inner darkness which is our shadow self.

However, if we are willing to step through our fear, we can learn to accept the darkness, to engage it in dialogue, and use it as a tool for our spiritual growth. We learn that true spiritual wholeness is not a denial of the dark side of ourselves but rather an embracing of both our inner light and our inner shadow into an integrated, healthy, transcendent whole.

Reverend Anne Tabor, M.Div., is available by appointment for spiritual counseling sessions at Unity of Arlington in a safe and supportive environment. As an ordained Unity minister, Rev. Anne, offers spiritual counseling to individuals seeking a deeper under-standing of themselves and their divine power within to solve life's challenges. Spiritual counseling can help if there is a need for inspiration, crisis support, or healing in any area of your life. Prayer and meditation are an integral part of Unity's spiritual principles, and an essential practice in realizing the answers we seek. We believe in the transformative power of affirmative prayer. You are a unique expression of God. Spiritual counseling will remind you of that!

Spiritual counseling is offered on a love offering basis. While no specific fee is expected or suggested, we do invite each person to leave a love offering. For more details, please call the church office 817-467-5151.

UNITY'S FIVE BASIC PRINCIPLES

Principle #1:
There is only one Presence and one Power in the Universe and in my life, God the Good.

Principle #2:
Human beings have a spark of divinity within them, the Christ spirit within.
Their essence is of God, and therefore they are also inherently good.

Principle #3:
Human beings create their experiences by the activity of their thinking.
Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought.

Principle #4:
Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with God Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity, and everything good.

Principle #5:
Knowing and understanding the laws of life, also called Truth, are not enough.
A person must live the truth he or she knows.
CORE VALUES
Spirit-Led:
Centered in the awareness of God's presence, we turn within for divine guidance in
all we do.

Love:
Love is our True Nature. We express the harmonizing power of love to see good everywhere and in everybody. Love binds together the whole human family.

Diversity:
We believe that all people are created with sacred worth. In a spirit of Unity, we embrace each person as an expression of God grounded in truth and love.

Connection:
We live, love, and laugh from our Oneness with God. We honor our inter-connectedness with each other, with all life, and the earth.

Abundance:
God is our Infinite Source of Good. We gratefully demonstrate prosperity in all areas
of our lives. We wisely use our wealth of resources to serve our spiritual community and the world.

Service:
We cultivate enlightened leadership by practicing the teachings of Jesus the Christ through sacred service. It is a blessing to serve locally and globally.

Integrity:
We consciously choose to practice living our Core Values and Unity Principles rather than simply professing them. We choose to communicate from the heart with authenticity and deliver on our commitments with reliability.
