An Open Book
Our Martha's Table Scholars Enrichment Program supports elementary school students from Moten Elementary in Southeast D.C. Students participate in engaging after-school clubs that help them develop in several key areas including: literacy, social-emotional development, communication, team work, problem solving, and creative thinking. In partnership with An Open Book, author Julie Falatko and illustrator Ruth Chan visited our scholars at The Commons and shared copies of their new children's book, The Great Indoors . Everyone had a fun time reading and learning together!
Bloomin' in SE: Gardening Workshop

Get your hands dirty with the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum and Martha's Table! Together, we are hosting a monthly gardening program that is open to the whole community.
June's workshop will focus on Sunlight: The Vitamin of Life. Participants will learn about the properties of sunlight and the proper amounts of sun exposure needed for growing a healthy garden. Workshop participants will conduct a simple science experiment to explore the importance of light in the successful development of their gardens. This event is no-cost and open to all ages and experience levels. RSVP is required.

Looking for a convenient way to donate kids clothing or professional attire for adults? Well, we have great news!

Thanks to our partners from  Clothing Recycling Company , clothing donations can be dropped off at the following bins located in DC:

  • 3400 13th Street, NW

Clothing donations directly support Martha's Outfitters, our community boutique store, which supports 13,000 no-cost shopping visits each year for families with young children.
