Summer Break

I hope everyone's summer break is off to a good start.  Our campus is still extremely busy with construction taking place both at the high school and on our main entrance/office.  Additionally, our community's kids are enjoying the YMCA Summer Camp and Safety Town here at NRMS.  Even with the construction, the main office is open throughout the summer; however it has been relocated to the computer labs off of the atrium.  Please note that the office is closed during the week of July 4th.  As we continue to prepare for 2019/2020 school year, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions over the summer months.

Important Notes:

1:1 Chromebook Initiative
All 6th through 8th grade students will be assigned a Chromebook for the 2019/2020 school year.  The 5th grade students will continue to have access to devices through class Chromebook carts.  Only parents of 6th grade students need to attend an informational meeting on Thursday, August 8 at 6:00 PM in the Gold Gym regarding our 1:1 Chromebook initiative.  Devices will be assigned and distributed during this meeting, but please know that packets and schedules will not be passed out until August 13, which is a change from our original plan communicated in the 4th quarter report card envelope.  Parents of 7th and 8th grade students do not need to attend this meeting as those students will  receive their Chromebook during the first week of school.  More detailed information regarding the 1:1 initiative will be distributed later in the summer.

WEB/5th Grade Parent Meeting
Where Everyone Belongs is a transition program coordinated by our 8th grade student leaders for the incoming 5th graders.  Please make sure to mark your calendars for WEB, which will take place in the NRMS Gold Gym starting at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, August 13.  Additionally, there will be a meeting for parents of 5th graders on the August 13 at 8:00 AM in the NRMS Purple Gym.  5th grade packets and schedules can be picked up after the parent meeting.

Packet Pick-Up
Students in grades 6-8 can pick up their packets and schedules starting at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 13 in the atrium and/or cafeteria.

New Student Orientation
Students who are new to the North Royalton City Schools and NRMS are encouraged to attend a new student orientation with their parents on Wednesday, August 14 at 8:00 AM in the NRMS Choir Room.

PTA
Thank you to everyone who has supported the NRMS PTA throughout the school year.  As you start to plan for next school year, please consider joining as the PTA supports many of the activities and opportunities that we provide our students.
