Rutgers University President Robert L. Barchi, who has led the University since September 2012, has accepted the governing board's request to remain as University president for a period of at least two more years. Among President Barchi's notable achievements include successfully guiding Rutgers through the country's largest ever merger of public institutions of higher education; planning and overseeing more than $2.2 billion in capital construction projects across the University's footprint; and, a sustained rise in academic prominence nationally and internationally.
