Help Name the Newest Lake Elmo Park!
 
The City is currently looking for name suggestions for the newly approved park that will be located between the Wildflower and Village Preserve developments.  Park names deemed derogatory or offensive in nature will not be considered.  Park names shall not be duplicated or named after a specific development.   For more information, and to submit a name, see the documents linked below.

Burglary Notice

Recently there has been a spike in home burglaries and thefts from vehicles in the metro area. Suspects have broken into vehicles parked outside or in driveways. They have used the garage remote controls left in the vehicles to gain access into the residence.

The Sheriff's Office is asking for your assistance in helping to prevent burglaries and thefts.

Do You Have a Smart Controller for Your Sprinkler System? 
 
Smart controllers utilize local data and conditions in order to make your water/ sprinkler use more efficient. Moreover, there is an array of models to choose from, from simple models (which simply shut the water off when it is raining) to more complex models (which take into account the level of moisture, type of soil, etc.).


 





CSAH 17 (Lake Elmo Avenue) Phase 3 Project Update

Project Schedule

Last Week
  • Crews completed installing storm sewer on the east half of the road.
  • Paved the first two layers of the road surface between 10th and 20th Street and the widened areas on 10th Street.

Next Week
  • Crews will begin shaping and compacting of the new roadway in preparation for curb and gutter installations to begin.
  • Crews started reclaiming pavement on County Road 17B. Once this is complete, they will replace culverts.
  • Curb and gutter installations are anticipated to begin, weather dependent.
  • The north bound lane is closed on Lake Elmo Avenue in order for crews to remove the pavement surface and install storm sewer pipe on the east half of the road. The road will remain open in the south bound direction only.

Manning Avenue/CSAH 14 Realignment Project

Project Schedule

Last Week
  • Turn lane construction was completed at the entrance to the old Tartan Park ball fields with the exception of pavement.
  • Turn lane construction was completed on CSAH 10 a quarter mile west of Manning Avenue with the exception of pavement.
  • Crews continued with storm sewer installation.

This Week
  • Crews will continue installing storm sewer on the east half of the road, moving north.
  • Crews will work on grinding up the pavement surface between 10th Street and 20th Street. Traffic may be down to one lane at times during this work, expect delays.
  • Ditch grading and restoration on the CSAH 17 and CSAH 10 turn lanes.
  • The north bound lane is closed on Lake Elmo Avenue in order for crews to remove the pavement surface and install storm sewer pipe on the east half of the road. The road will remain open in the south bound direction only.

Washington County Parks campfire programs continue June 15
 
Washington County Library will present a program on bats at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at Lake Elmo Park Reserve.
Dodge Nature Center will present "Bright Eyed & Busy Tailed: Squirrels" at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park.

The programs will continue with Raptors at Lake Elmo Park Reserve, and Reptiles at St. Croix Bluffs June 22, at the same times.

The programs are free, with a vehicle park pass, $7 daily, $30 annually.

Archery programs for beginners, women, girls set at Lake Elmo Park Reserve in June
 
Whether a beginner or advanced archer, join the experts from A-1 Archery to advance your skills with a two-part Introduction to Archery, starting June 5 and June 19, or a four-part series of Women & Girls Archery, starting June 5, both at Lake Elmo Park Reserve.

Newcomers will learn archery basics, safety, and technique; participants with existing skills will be able to fine tune their technique and learn how to score a spot target.

The program will be led by Dana Keller, NASP, 4H Archery Shooting Sports, and Level 2 USA Archery Instructor.
The cost for the introductory lessons is $25 per person, and includes both dates and all equipment provided. Participants may choose sessions on June 5 and June 12, or June 19 and June 26; sessions are 6 to 7 p.m. All vehicles must have a valid parks permit, which is $7 daily or $30 annually.

The program is for those ages 8 years and older, and minors must be accompanied by an adult.
This program meets at the Lake Elmo Park Reserve - Outdoor Archery Range. In case of rain and inclement weather, classes will move to A-1 Archery's Indoor Range. No vehicle permit is required here.

Women & Girls Archery will meet four times 7 to 8 p.m. June 5, 12, 19, and 26. The cost is $50 for the four-part series. Registration includes four nights of shooting, and equipment is included. Those with their own equipment may stop at A-1 Archery a few days before the class to check over the equipment and make sure that it fits you properly and that arrows are the correct length/spine.
