There was a lot to celebrate last weekend - the Ordination of the now 'Rev.' Judith Lyons, Baccalaureate Sunday where we celebrated our High School grads, and at the same time said bon voyage to Rev. Laurel as she moves to explore new horizons.

Congratulations to the newly ordained Rev. Jude! Jude will be serving as deacon at both services on Sunday. She will join our staff on August 14. Welcome!

Summer Choir
Anyone who has a desire to help bring God's word to life in song is welcome to come join the Summer Choir! We will gather at 9:00 on Sunday mornings in the choir area of the church to learn the anthem for that day. No Thursday evening rehearsals. No robes. Give it a try! We will help you! Antique Show thank you!
A very big thank you goes out to all of our wonderful Antique Show volunteers!! Thank you to all of our committee chairs who did an outstanding job and to all of you who volunteered to fill time slots serving lunches, selling tickets, working in the Gazebo and Harvest Cupboard and so much more! You are all the light that makes St. Francis shine brightly with our antique dealers and the public that comes to the show! Silent Auction Item - Summer Party at the Bredesen's
We still have slots open for the Summer Party at Ginger and Chris Bredesen's beachfront home which will be held on Sunday August 18 from 4 - 7pm. Our very own Jeff & Robert of Mr. J's Kitchen will be doing the catering! It is $50 per person. E-mail Jamie to reserve your spots!

It’s almost time for Family Vacation Bible School..."ROAR", and some Roaring good family fun!!!!
Monday-Wednesday, June 24, 25 & 26 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. beginning with a light dinner! Everyone who came last year loved the family format especially because it gave us some time to get to know one another even better! The program is going to be fun for All ages so Please Come !!!! Sign up by June 19 so we are certain to have appropriate supplies. (call the office or get a registration form from the office or at Sunday School)
Needed—Bike In Good Working Order
Cassandra, one of the new recipients of our St. Francis Outreach Scholarship Fund scholarship, is attending Cal State Dominguez Hills this fall. She is within walking distance to the campus, but feels a bike would help get back and forth to school. Email Cheryl Gutierrez or call (310) 621-3532.
"Kaleidoscope" - A Choir Extravaganza!
Sunday, June 23 after 10:00 a.m. worship
Plan to stay after church on June 23 to share in the joy and frivolity that is the choir Fun(d)raiser Luncheon. This year's repertoire will explore songs about colors, and the aura is strong! $10/person or $20/family gets you a delicious lunch (choice of entrees) served by the choir, and a three-act show filled with humor and talent. Don't miss it! And remember to bring some $$$$ to fill our top hats!!!

Thursday, June 27, 11:30 a.m. – lunch followed by speaker
Throughout the year, we will feature interesting people from our church and community, such as authors, artists, scientists, humanitarians, and more, who will join us for lunch and talk with us about their work and interests. Elizabeth, our first speaker, is a parishioner and choir member, and also the #1 New York Times best selling author of The Eighty-Dollar Champion and The Perfect Horse, as well as many other works, including her current novel, Finding Dorothy. A former, certified nurse-midwife, she also served in the Peace Corps in Morocco. We are very pleased that Elizabeth has agreed to speak with us and hope you can join us for this engaging event, which will conclude around 1:15 p.m. A complimentary lunch will be served, so please sign up in the church office by no later than Sunday, June 23rd.
