This Week's Bell Schedule
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday - Regular Bell Schedule
Wednesday - Late Start Schedule
Friday - Minimum Day Schedule
A MESSAGE FROM THE DISTRICT

At present, in accordance with the COVID-19 Exposure Management Plan for TK-12 Schools, persons with an exposure, who are fully vaccinated and have no symptoms are exempt from quarantining, but should get tested and monitor their health for symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days after their last contact with the infected person. Thus, if a student is fully vaccinated and identified as a close contact, they do not need to quarantine and are advised to get tested within three to five days of exposure.

In order to expedite contact tracing efforts, we are requesting students’ COVID-19 vaccination documentation. As with all vaccination records, this information will be confidential in nature and will only be available to the required personnel.

If your child(ren) has/have received a COVID-19 vaccination, please complete the appropriate school form for each student*. In order to upload a file, students need to log into their Microsoft 365 account, for privacy reasons. If you prefer to bring your child’s vaccination card to the Health Office, please provide the original card and you do not need to fill out the form.

* Note that each school has a separate form so if you have a child in a different school, please use the appropriate school link in order to upload the information to the correct site.

If you have already filled out the HS form for athletics or extra curriculars, you do not need to fill the form out again.

If your child has not received the COVID-19 vaccination, you do not need to do anything further. However, please note that should an unvaccinated individual be identified as a close contact, he/she must self-quarantine away from others and monitor symptoms for 10 days after the last exposure to the infected person. Home Quarantine Guidance is available online.
Please complete the form and upload the documentation (or bring in the vaccination card) as soon as possible, but no later than September 30, 2021.
If you have any questions, please contact your site administrator.

FINANCIAL AID FOR SENIORS
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will open on October 1, 2021. The first step in completing a FAFSA is to obtain a username and password called a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID). Every student must have an FSA ID in order to begin the FAFSA. If a parent has not completed a FAFSA before, the parent who will be completing the parent financial portion of the FAFSA will need to create an FSA ID. It may take up to 24 hours for the ID to be active so you can create your ID now and you will be ready to start your FAFSA on/after October 1st.
Follow the link to start your FSA ID:   https://fsaid.ed.gov/npas/index.htm

FAFSA Helpful Hints
If you are filling out financial aid forms for a student entering college next year, make sure you chose 2022-2023 as the school year.
To avoid complications, the student should begin the FAFSA form, not the parent. When prompted, the parent will log into the FAFSA form and complete the parent portion.
·         Colleges have reported that there is less confusion if the student name and address match exactly with the FAFSA application, the college application, and the student school records (Aeries information). Abbreviations like RPV instead of Rancho Palos Verdes can cause errors in matching records.
Colleges have unique deadlines for financial aid and scholarships, make sure to check out the Financial Aid tab on each school's website.
The deadline to submit a FAFSA is different in every state. For California public colleges/universities it is March 2, 2021. For out of state colleges/universities, make sure to check out their Financial Aid pages to find their deadlines.

We hope you will join us on October 5th for our College Knowledge Financial Aid: How to Complete the FAFSA workshop. To register for the event go to the CCC website (pvphs.net/CollegeCareerCenter) choose 2021 Virtual College Knowledge Series from the menu on the right and scroll to the event.
