TOKLAT GALLERY
Hello My Friends,

The wildflowers in the meadows in the upper Castle Creek Valley that my father so vehemently protected are resplendent.  If you need assistance identifying any of them, there is a wonderful photo book at the King Cabin created by my brother Greg many years ago.  Take a day this weekend (open hours are for the weekend) and have a four-for-one-special.  One beautiful drive south on Castle Creek Road.  First stop:  the Aspen Historical Society managed Ashcroft Ghost Town, open 9 to 5.   Second Stop:  across the street the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies owned Catto Center at Toklat open 9 to 5.  Third stop:  a stone's throw further south on the right, King Cabin: Ashcroft Ski Touring's summer Adventure Center and Toklat Gallery, open from 10 to 6.  Stop four:  the Pine Creek Cookhouse (call 970-925-1044 for hours) and the valley beyond.  The walk along River Run from Ashcroft to Pine Creek is a must!
**At the King Cabin on Saturday from 2 to 6 DOUG GRAYBEAL will be painting plein air using  watercolor and pastel. There is a beautiful scene of the north side of Ashcroft's Hotel View with the  meadow in the foreground full of green gentian.
