Tour de Fat to Move Online for 2020

In keeping with CDC guidelines and the recommendations of the New Belgium Brewery COVID-19 response team, this year's biggest bike party will take place online and in our hearts. Although we won't be able to engage in the same annual shenanigans of beers, bikes and bemusement in the streets of Fort Collins, New Belgium Brewery remains dedicated to keeping Tour de Fat alive and well online through a series of contests, challenges and fundraisers.

Moving online, Tour de Fat will be known as Tour de Fat University (TDFU) and shall include all the same events and activities you know and love. Beginning in August and moving through early October, New Belgium Brewery will offer up a slew of challenges including the beloved slow ride bicycle challenge as well as a dance and costume contest. In the spirit of Tour de Fat, we also encourage you to get out and ride bikes in your community while donning the most garish, bike spirited costume you can scrape together. And no Tour de Fat would be complete without the promise of a limited edition 2020 New Belgium Brewery Fat Tire Cruiser Bike grand prize!

Bike Fort Collins is particularly grateful to Tour de Fat for their continued support of the important bicycle advocacy work we do in the community. Over the next couple of months, New Belgium Brewery pledges to match up to $10,000 in fundraising dollars! During these difficult times, Bike Fort Collins is eternally grateful for the love and support we receive from the community and local businesses. Fundraising is a major component of Tour de Fat and we encourage you to engage in this philanthropic aspect of TDFU by donating (or purchasing their swag kit) Here.

And stay up to date on all TDFU activities and challenges by following @tourdefat on Instagram!
Thank You for reading, and for your interest in and support of Bike Fort Collins.
