SBA's EIDL Program Enhanced To Aid Small Businesses

The SBA recently accounced that the COVID Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program has been enhanced to better meet the needs of small businesses, especially the hardest hit industries and smallest entities that still need relief. Key changes include increasing the COVID EIDL cap; implementation of a deferred payment period; establishment of a 30-day exclusivity window; expansion of eligible use of funds; and simplification of affiliation requirements. Shakopee High School’s Science and Technology Academy-Technological Innovations Course has eager 11th and 12th grade students that would benefit from real-world experience by assisting with your business project! Shakopee High School is seeking businesses to support the upcoming Technological Innovation AP course.

*Students will have 6 weeks to apply their skills and expertise to the benefit of your business! At the same time, you can provide insight into your business.

*The course is set to start on November 15th and then will run again starting January 31st.  The creativity from Shakopee students is next to none and your efforts will provide a truly rewarding experience.

*The Shakopee High School team will be there to support your business and ensure that time investment is manageable, and impact is positive for all involved. Don’t have any experience collaborating with students or limited resources? No problem – we can work together to define a project and manageable schedule.

*Prerequisites for the class include background in one of these areas: AP Computer Science Principles, Cyber Security, Energy and Power Generation, Environmental Sustainability, AP Environmental Science Program of Study: All Science and Technology Programs of Study.

Shakopee Levy Request

To address the financial challenges continuing to impact Shakopee Public Schools, the School Board, during the July 19th school board business meeting, unanimously approved a special election to bring an operating levy before the voters on November 2. Shakopee is the only school district in the metro area without a voter-approved operating levy. Learn about the levy, ballot questions, and more by visiting ShakopeeLevy2021.org.
