CAPTAIN YOGI'S USELESS
BUT IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Hello Everybody!

Wow, what a summer! It felt more like we were in a rain forest over the past couple of months. But it didn’t dampen our events and Dennis even got to play at Fiddlers at Mayapple a couple of times this year with no rain! Here’s to hoping that this liquid sunshine doesn’t turn in the four-letter word in a couple of months.
For all those that attended the 4 th Annual Jakie Invitational Golf Tournament, THANK YOU. And a special shout out to the committee for doing a great job putting on another spectacular event. For those of you that missed out, you missed a great event! The weather was a cooler this year with a little moisture, but no one complained! Thank You to Piratemon Wayne for donating his time and providing the entertainment at no charge! As always, the raffle prizes and auction Items were a big hit. I have it under good authority that all will be impressed at the money raised! Thanks again everyone for making it a great success!
With fall coming upon us, it means Meeting of The Minds is just around the corner! We have about half a dozen of our members attending this year not including Tropical Soul, which I understand is the 18 th anniversary of them playing there. If you haven’t seen on Facebook, registrations are down but about 400 a week or two ago for them to hit the break even point. This is a great event if you haven’t gone, or even if you have and you’re on the fence, GO! As the manager of Tropical Soul mentioned in Facebook, if we don’t support MOTM, it will go away! For the $90 cost, it is well worth it, and there is a lot of great music that we wouldn’t normally see if you weren’t registered.
I hope to see a good turnout at this month’s social now that the weather is going to be cooler and help support our host, The Road House. The next event coming is the last road clean up on October 27 th and then a little food and liquid sustenance at the Blue Room!
Last, but not least, with November only two months away, we have a couple of board positions opening and need your help! If you’re interested in a board position, please see a board member or drop me a line. Plain and simple, if we don’t have a board we don’t have a club!

Pool is still open!
Captain Yogi

WANT A ROOM AT THE CASA MARINA FOR MOTM 2018?
Every year we approach the event and there are always those “life gets in the way moments” that cause our PHriends to have to change their plans to attend our event. We all can relate to that and we always send our best wishes to those who cannot attend MOTM due to last-minute family emergencies and other things.
There are currently four rooms available due to recent cancellations. We have moved all of our Reach back up guest list over to the Casa who wanted to move. These Casa rooms are available for you to book. If you are having any issue with the Casa web booking please call the Casa Marina reservations directly in Key West to see if they can help you. We want to keep every room full as we have to pay for vacancy and we want a Parrot Head in EVERY room. I will say as our PHriend Howard Livingston said in his very cool video on our Facebook page "PHiP, Inc." this week...this is the best deal on a Waldorf Astoria / Casa Marina room that you will see as we are the ONLY group to buy out the entire hotel every year. This is a special place and the Parrot Heads rule the place for MOTM.
Here are the contacts to book a reservation for MOTM #27 at the Casa Marina, A Waldorf Astoria Resort:
Booking code:  ZZPAR1
Central Reservations:  1-888-303-5717
Casa Marina In House Reservations:  1-305-296-3535 ext 6605
The 2018 MOTM dates are on the PHiP web site for use in booking your rooms right now!
I have much to tell you over the coming weeks. Things are very busy getting everything ready for you to have a BLAST at MOTM. The clock is ticking and we need you there to make this one BIG PARTY!
See ya down the road…real soon.

It's Summer there are tons of things to do!!!!

Jakie Invitational 2018

The 4 th Annual Jakie Invitational is now in the books. August 19 th , 82 golfers came out to Rich Valley on a dreary rainy day (What’s new... all summer has been like that)  But everyone had a great time raising money for the Pa Wounded Warriors. We had 10 warrior Sponsors, 2 Purple Heart Sponsors and 5 Keystone Sponsors.  34 Hole Sponsors and lots of great raffle items and auction items.  Music was donated by Pirate Man Wayne Beck.

Thank you to the committee members Phyllis Harmon, Deb Fink, Martha Orndorf, Diane Clapper and Beth Hinkle. This event would never happen without all your hard work.    Also thank you to everyone who came out to volunteer the day of the event.
Our donation this year will be $9000.00 which will put us awfully close to $40,000 for the past four years.
Amish Parrotheads, another job well done.
