Thank You BHS Community

On behalf of the Ballard High School PTSA, I'd like to thank you for your support of Ballard High School. Your generous support throughout the 2018/2019 school year enabled us fund nearly $100,000 in grants to BHS teachers and staff and ensure they had the resources necessary to make the classroom the best possible learning experience for all of our students.

I'd like to offer an additional thank you to everyone who volunteered their time during the past school year.  Those who volunteer their time not just with the PTSA, but with all of the booster clubs across the school really do help the teachers and staff work to make BHS an incredible environment for students.

I'd also like to extend thanks and recognition to our PTSA awards winners.  I n the last PTSA General Meeting of the year, we provided the following awards to:

Outstanding Educator
  1. Kira Franz-Knight
  2. Nell Niewiadomski
  3. Melissa Baron
Golden Acorn (Volunteer Award)
  1. Mara Lim (current Performing Arts Booster President)
  2. Jenny Peters (current BHS PTSA Treasurer, past Vice President and Spree Chair)
Outstanding Advocate
  1. Joel Niemeyer (awarded for his many years of contributions to BHS as a BHS alumni, past BHS PTSA president, current BHS PTSA Direct Appeal Chair, current BHS PTSA Grants Program Chair and BHS Foundation Vice President)
As we look ahead to the 2019/2020 school year, I invite and encourage everyone in the extended BHS community to lend a helping hand at the school this coming year. Whether it is on a more consistent basis with the PTSA, or volunteering your time a bit more informally as opportunities arise, we welcome - and need - your help!  We have a variety of positions with the PTSA waiting to be filled.  Any of the  PTSA openings listed here may be available individually or in a co-chair capacity to best meet your own needs.  If you are unsure on how to get involved, or just want to learn more,  please contact the PTSA here  and we will help find a good fit for your time and skills.

Also, these are my last days as PTSA president and with the graduation of my youngest daughter, my last days as a BHS parent. I'm happy to introduce and welcome to Tom Eggert, our incoming BHS PTSA president for the 2019/2020 school year. Tom is the current PTSA vice president, and will do a wonderful job as president!

Thank you and enjoy the summer break
