Mission of the Month Summer

We have adjusted our worship format slightly for the Summer.  Our schedule is the same: 9 am Contemporary and 11 am Traditional.  However, we will be changing the order of service for the 11 am worship.  We will keep the essential elements of worship: Word, Communion, Prayer, and song, but will offer a pared-down service for the summer months that should run for about 30 minutes.  If you have any questions about this, feel free to be in touch with Pastor Andrew or a member of the Worship and Music Team.  

Pastor Andrew will be on vacation beginning Saturday, August 10 through Saturday, 

August 17.  In the event of an emergency, he can be reached at 1-774-262-6025.

One of the components of the 11:00 AM Traditional Worship service is the use of an Assisting Minister. In general, the Assisting Minister will read the prayers of the day, assist with Communion, serve as lector, and dismiss the congregation at the end of the service. Assisting Ministers are scheduled to serve approximately 6 times a year, and the schedule is flexible.

Pastor will provide the training for Assisting Ministers in the early fall of 2019. If you are interested in learning more, or are willing to serve your congregation in this capacity, please contact Pastor Andrew.

Save the Date!

We are planning to hold our annual church picnic on Sunday, September 15.  That will also first day of Family Faith Formation & Confirmation classes for the 2019-2020 year.  More details about our annual church celebration will follow in August.

Please plan to join us to celebrate.  We hope to see everyone there!

Summer is here! The Church Council and Finance Team would like to thank everyone for their generosity in giving throughout the first half of the year. We are largely meeting our budget because of you and this is hugely important in sustaining our many vibrant ministries. Thank you! During the summer, we realize that worship habits can change. Vacations, time with family, days at the beach, etc. are all gifts to enjoy. We would like to encourage you, should you be away from St. James, to consider maintaining your giving throughout the Summer. We realize that many of you do this, and we are grateful.

 

St. James offers options for electronic giving. E-giving is an easy option that simplifies your contributions to the church and helps us to receive support on a regular basis. If you would like to begin giving electronically, or if you have questions, feel free to contact us in the church office. Forms for e-giving are available on the information table in the Community Room. If you would like to speak with Pastor Andrew or a member of the Finance Team, we would be happy to set up a meeting.
