FEMA to Provide Masks for PBA Passengers

Through our connection and communication with Tim Cotter of FMCSA, we have learned we will be provided with a supply of masks for operator passengers.  As of today, the ship date is unknown, however they will be packaged in a pallet, each of which hold 12,500 masks.  I have requested more than one pallet; time will tell what we receive.  However, if you're interested in getting masks once we receive them, please email me.  Thanks!  
County gives Destination Gettysburg $100,000

PBA Member, Destination Gettysburg. is receiving a $100,000 boost from the County of Adams.  The commissioners unanimously approved the allocation during their biweekly meeting, which was held via conference call due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The commissioners said the funding was necessary so Destination Gettysburg could promote Adams County tourism.  Read more...
More Than 150 Businesses Sign & Adopt The Pocono Promise

PBA Member,  Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau, held a virtual signing ceremony, where more than 150 businesses and counting have pledged to sign and support the Pocono Promise. Businesses of all shapes and sizes throughout the Pocono Mountains voluntarily vow to follow certain guidelines that protect residents, employees and customers once it is time to reopen.  Read more...
Virginia Tourism Corporation has launched its "LOVE Lives Here" initiative 

PBA Member, Virginia Tourism Corporation, launched its "LOVE Lives Here" initiative on social media in an effort to bring Virginians together (virtually) to share an uplifting message of love.

Love has been the foundation of Virginia's travel message for more than 50 years. From the iconic Virginia is for Lovers slogan to the 200-plus LOVEworks around the state, "LOVE" can be found in every corner of the commonwealth.  Read more...

Bergen Upholstery Develops PPE for Drivers and Passengers 

PBA Member, Bergen Upholstery, a leader in interior refurbishment for over 74 years, has developed a protective driver barrier ( image 1, image 2) for MCI, Prevost and VanHool.   Also available are passenger barriers that separate a seat from front and back, using the same clear plastic that hangs down from the luggage rack.   Bergen Upholstery has also been manufacturing face masks for donation to local nursing homes and hospitals and these are available for sale for riders who might not bring their own.

The Small Business Administration released the Paycheck Protection Program loan forgiveness application accompanied by instructions.

The instructions afford some additional clarity as to certain lingering questions concerning payroll cost calculation during the 8-week forgiveness period.

FMCSA Extension of Emergency Declaration No. 2020-002
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) hereby declares that a national emergency continues to exist that warrants extension of Emergency Declaration No. 2020-002 issued on March 13, 2020, expanded on March 18, 2020, and extended and further expanded on April 8, 2020.  This extension continues the exemption granted from Parts 390 through 399 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) for the fifty States and the District of Columbia.  This Declaration extends the exemption through June 14, 2020Read more...
CVSA Operation Safe Driver Week is July 12-18;  Speeding is the Focus 
The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance's (CVSA) 2020 Operation Safe Driver Week will go on as scheduled, July 12-18. During this week-long traffic enforcement safety initiative, law enforcement personnel throughout North America will be looking for drivers who are engaging in unsafe driving behaviors on our roadways.
