Serve Wisconsin Launches Updated Website

Serve Wisconsin is excited to announce the launch of our updated website! ServeWisconsin.wi.gov features a mobile-responsive design and streamlined navigation for faster access to key information.

The homepage now provides direct access to three popular topics- how to serve with AmeriCorps, how to start an AmeriCorps program, and how to join the Wisconsin National & Community Service Board. Information about grants and other applications are easily accessible. The site also includes historical archives of board meeting minutes and agendas.

Wisconsin National & Community Service Board Chair Paula Horning, Serve Wisconsin Executive Director Jeanne Duffy, and America's Service Commissions staff members Emily Steinberg and Tom Branen visited Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. last month to educate members of Congress from across Wisconsin about the impact of AmeriCorps in local communities.

Member Reflection Excerpt: Tyler Eschmann
AmeriCorps Member with College Possible Milwaukee

I'm so thankful that I applied and was accepted. College Possible is an amazing part of my life and I can't imagine not having this experience. I'm a college coach which means I'm working with current college students and connecting with them to make sure they continue in school to graduate. Every day is different. It's a lot of creative outreach. The bulk of my job is finding new ways to engage with students.

I really love using my love of music and rap in my work with the college students. I even made a video for them (see video to the right).

Although this job is really hard, it's so rewarding. The students are amazing. That's the whole reason I came back for a second term of service, I just built really good relationships with my students. The students make my day, for sure.
