Dear PCA Families and Friends,

Thank for all those who joined Dr.Connie Lawrence and me during yesterday's Town Hall and for all of your excellent questions and feedback. I am excited and encouraged about the upcoming 2020-21 school year, where we will be teaching from PCA, at PCA, and beyond PCA. You can view the Town Hall HERE and learn more about closing-out with blessing and celebration, our summer plans, and the way ahead with next year. Although challenges are all around us, I am inspired and looking forward to all that is ahead as we move together with our families and friends.
We hope that you joined us tonight (virtually) as our very own PCA Players shared with you Runyonland: A Pandemic Experience (adapted by Kelli Connors). The production will be shown again tomorrow evening at 7:00 pm. Damon Runyon's stories celebrated life in Broadway and New York City. Watch HERE (the link will become live when the show begins at 7:00 pm). Funny and engaging, this production is not to be missed for both the amazing acting but also the unique way they brought this story to life online! BONUS: Excellent artwork by the PCA Upper School students will be shown during the intermission.

Finally, you will see below a slew of activities and products from our students, all accomplished at a distance and while separated. They show we are in a season of closure, blessing, and celebration. These last 12 weeks have brought us challenges which we never expected, yet I have witnessed first-hand the joyful determination of our teachers, students, and parents. You have persevered, adapted, and overcome. In many ways, you have made a whole lot of good out of a lot of confusion and uncertainty. I sense God has been in this and still is. I have also seen your faithfulness to excellent Christian education. Considering both, I have great confidence in the future at PCA and beyond.
Together in His service,
Mike Runey
Headmaster
The month of May has always been a "showcase" month for PCA's Fine Arts program, and no pandemic can get in our way! Thanks to great technology and creative students at home, the Art Show is chock full of beautiful masterpieces. The blessing of having this virtual art show is that it can be easily shared with you! Grab a lemonade and enjoy the amazing work of our PCA students.

This week, our Upper School "Voices" students performed "Wayfaring Stranger," a musical piece which was arranged by Fine Arts Director, Carroll Stevens. The performance has been dedicated to the Trainor family in memory of Martha Trainor, a PCA parent, who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly early Saturday morning. Thank you for your prayers, love, and concern for the Trainor family during this extremely difficult time. Friends of the Trainors are coming alongside to help the family in this time of financial challenge; if you would like to support the family, please visit the Go Fund Me page link HERE. Please continue to keep the Trainor family in your prayers.
Athletic Director, Derek Summers, along with the rest of the PCA community would like to thank all of our senior athletes whose senior season was cut short. Your dedication to the PCA athletic program, your teammates, and your craft will always be appreciated and remembered. On May 26th, each playing surface bore the number "2020" as a tribute to the student athletes of the Class of 2020.
Thank you, Seniors!
This week, the Upper School Cross Country Team began training for the upcoming fall season as a very small socially-distanced group. For some athletes, it had been almost 10 weeks since they had been on campus. Coach Mike Shevenell and the group had a lovely early morning run, followed by group stretching. We thank the Lord for this small beginning. Those attending were Sam Harrington (freshman), Liza Corso (junior), Luke O'Halloran (freshman), and Brianna Malone (freshman). Go, Eagles!
Attention Upper School Students!
Order Deadline: Monday, June 1
If you haven't purchased a yearbook yet, there is still time! An email with a direct link to order was sent to your school email account. Yearbooks are $60, and the deadline to order is on Monday; however, we only have a limited amount of extras so this is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Following appropriate pre-screening and social-distancing protocols, we are inviting volunteers back onto campus to help in the Swap Shop, beginning the week of June 15 and throughout the summer as we prepare for the 2020-21 school year. Please contact Jodi Karnes for more information.
