A note from the Chairman:

Run for Something!
Now that we are past the May local elections and coming up on July 1st, it is time to seriously think about running for office. I have potential candidates (Republican incumbents in parentheses) that have approached me about CD08 (Brady), SD04 (Creighton) and HD03 (Bell). By the way, nothing about already having a candidate in a race precludes us from having a primary challenge!
At the State Level, this leaves HD015 (Toth) and HD016 (Metcalf). At the County level, we have District Attorney (Ligon), County Attorney (Griffin), Sheriff (Henderson) and Tax Assessor-Collector (McRae).
In the local judiciary, the following judicial positions are available: 9th District Court (Grant); 410th District Court (Robin); 418th District Court (Gilbert); 459th (Maginnis); and County Court at Law 5 (Stewart). I believe there may also be one open District Court that was just created open in 2020.
All five constables are also up for election: Precinct 1 (Cash); Precinct 2 (DeForest); Precinct 3 (Gable); Precinct 4 (Hayden); and Precinct 5 (Jones).
As usual, all precinct chair positions and the county chair are on the primary ballot as well. As we saw in 2018, the more candidates that we have on the ballot, the more options that we have. And we need good candidates to run in everything available. Please pass this on and help recruit candidates!

  VOTER ALERT!
CHECK YOUR VOTER REGISTRATION STATUS!!

In this time of aggressive voter purges, internet hacking, and various forms of voter suppression, it is extremely important to confirm that your registration status is current and active. Texas is among the states that enforces voter suspension and purging of "inactive" or voters. In Montgomery County alone, there are over 44,000 voter files which have been marked for suspension and eventual purging. For various reasons you may have had your registration suspended. Reasons may include moving without updating your information, not voting in the previous 2 elections, or having mail returned as undeliverable to the Elections administration.

Don't miss out on your right to vote. You may use these links to check your voter registration status to confirm you are up-to-date, to be sure you have the required form(s) of ID to cast your ballot, to find your precinct # and voting locations as well as a SAMPLE BALLOT for your precinct.
