Dear Residents -
It took three weeks, but Rockland County has finally qualified for FEMA Individual assistance. Thank you to the hundreds of Orangetown residents that helped Rockland achieve this declaration by sending my office e-mails describing the flood damage to your homes.
Orangetown residents small businesses that have suffered damage from the remnants of Hurricane Ida can apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov or call (800) 621-3362. You will need to supply the following information:
- Your phone number, so they can contact you
- Your address at the time of Hurricane Ida and where you are now staying
- Your Social Security number
- A list of damages
- Your insurance information, agent and company name, if you are insured
Also, earlier this week the US Small Business Administration (SBA) announced that small businesses and most private nonprofit organizations in Rockland are now eligible to apply for SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans. For more information about these loans, please click here.
This past Wednesday we welcomed the first day of fall and the weather this weekend promises to be beautiful. So, get out there, soak in the sun and cooler temperatures. You can:
- Walk the Joseph P. Clarke Rail Trail;
- Visit a Farmer’s Market;
- Hike at Tallman Mountain State Park; or
- Take a stroll along the Piermont Pier.
So many great things to do right here in Orangetown!
Respectfully,
