Principal's Message

I am excited to welcome our angels back to school tomorrow! After a busy summer, the smiling faces of our students as they return to the building will be such an inspiring and uplifting moment to experience! They bring so much joy and happiness to our staff, students, and entire GA community! It is going to be a great year of spiritual, academic, and developmental growth! Parents are invited to attend our Opening Ceremony at 9:00 on Thursday, August 19 by the main school entrance. If there is inclement weather, the ceremony will be conducted on Friday at 9:00.

God bless,

Emergency All-Call System

All parents should have received a phone call from Guardian Angels School this morning around 9:00am. This was a test of our emergency all-call system. If you did not receive a phone call, please contact Melissa Boston in the school office by calling 624-3141 or emailing her at [email protected]. The emergency all-call system is used to inform you of a change in operation due to weather or other emergency-related situations.

SafeParish - GA Volunteer Information

Guardian Angels is so thankful for the many adults who volunteer their time with children through our school, church, and extracurricular activities. The Archdiocese of Cincinnati requires any adult working with children to have an online background check (Selection.com) and receive child protection training. The archdiocese now offers training through a program called SafeParish™ which is conducted online. Those who were active under the old training protocols (Virtus) will not have to receive new training, but will have to register in the SafeParish™ system.

To register, go to http://www.aocsafeenvironment.org/ and click "Register." You will then use the password "protectcincy" to register under the new system. Those that were active under Virtus will be linked to the information on file, while new registrants will be prompted to undergo the online training. You can view details registration instructions by clicking here. Or email Bradley Barnes if you need assistance.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Looking for ways to promote your company or donate to special projects at GA? See the attached file for more details on how you can become a sponsor for this great event. Due to the generosity of our sponsors and participation from our community, in just two years the 5K has been able to fund the HSPT course for the 8th grade students, install (3) new basketball hoops on the playground and donated $15,000 towards the PTA playground project. Other News & Reminders

Christian Service Program - Faith in Action

The purpose of the Christian Service Program is to enhance the religion curriculum at Guardian Angels Church. It is the duty of all Christians to reach out in service to those around them. Christ asks us to be His hands and feet on earth, keeping His mission of reaching out to those in need alive. The students will complete their service within the following settings: at home, the parish community/school and the community at-large. This outreach may be completed individually, with a partner, or in a group.

This program will focus more on the meaning of the actual service opportunities rather than completing a prescribed amount of time. You will choose activities for each component—service to your family, service to your school/parish and service to the poor and vulnerable in our community. There is no minimum requirement of hours to complete. Grades 1-3 are required to complete at least 2 activities for each component; grades 4-8 at least 3 for each. You are certainly encouraged to complete more! See your Religion teacher, Mrs. Froehlich, or the parish website for a list of suggested activities and the log sheet.

Questions? Contact Kay Froehlich, Director of Religious Education, for more information.
