NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK
|
This week, the Building Trades pathway at Century High School celebrated National Apprenticeship Week which runs from Nov. 11 to Nov. 17. Students participated in a work-based learning assignment and met with industry professionals, and visited the training facilities at both the Labor Union training school in Azusa and the Heat and Frost Insulators training facility Local 5 in Ontario. Students in the Building Trades program at Century have the opportunity to learn about the multitude of high-paying and rewarding careers available through the building trades. One of the unique elements of the program is that Industry professionals from the trade unions regularly visit the classroom to assist in training students and preparing them for applying for apprenticeship programs across Southern California. High school students interested in enrolling for the spring semester that begins in January (M-Th 3:00-5:30 p.m.) can do so at the SAUSD CTE website
www.sausd.us/cte.

|
SAUSD is committed to engaging all stakeholders in the process of establishing our Local Control and Accountability Plans (LCAP). The LCAP is a three-year plan for California school districts. Every year, the plan describes a district's goals, the actions it will take to meet those goals, and how it will measure the outcomes of those goals and actions for the school year. To provide feedback on the District’s LCAP goals online through Nov. 22, 2019,

Overall everyone was able to have a good time, and counselors were able to check in with students during their lunches in a creative way. Every moment is important".
