Not Too Late: Contact Your State Legislators
Save the Task Force on Universal Health Care
Next week the Special Legislative Session on the budget begins. We've said it before, but this is essential—we must preserve funding for Oregon's Task Force on Universal Health Care when the legislature votes on funding cuts. The need for public engagement is essential. We must stand up for justice in healthcare.
Contact your State Representative and State Senator again, and tell them to "stand up for justice in health care, and save the funding for the Task Force on Universal Health Care. It is time for an equitable healthcare system." Click here to search for your legislator.
Click here to follow the Task Force. Next meeting is 8/21 at 1:00pm. You can watch and provide public testimony during public hearing or in writing. Over 40 people provided written testimony in support of the Purposes, Values and Principals for the initial meeting with of the Task Force in July. Time to have your say.

We will invest in solutions to help people stop smoking and vaping, including tripling the funding for cessation and prevention programs.
This November it is time to say "Yes for a Healthy Future."
New HCAO Business Supporter Highlight: Audiology and Hearing Aid Associates of LaGrande
Erika: "I worked in a large organization for over a decade, they provided our families healthcare, it was not until my daughter aged off my insurance and my husband got a job with the state that I felt I could branch out to achieve my dream of providing hearing services in rural Oregon as an independent business owner. I am unable to directly provide insurance benefits to my employees making it almost impossible to compete for talent. I think it is ridiculous that employers dictate the healthcare that most of us have access to, our healthcare should be independent of where we work. We should have the freedom to choose where we work and not feel tied to an employer simply for access to healthcare."
