Former Lancer Basketball player Henock Araia BComm '14 combined his business degree, investment experience and love of basketball to write a children’s book on financial literacy. Children are the target audience for his book 3 Pointers 2 Wealth.
 
"After graduating from Odette School of Business, venturing off into corporate Canada and doing a bit of active investing I realized one of the most critical components to investing and personal finance is time. The earlier folks can learn the language of money the better."' said Araia. 
Kurt Downes
Alum recognized as Community Builder
Former Lancer Track and Field athlete Kurt Downes BA '03, BA '05 has been named the 2020 Community Builder of the Year by Canadian Running Magazine. Downes has a long history of coaching track athletes including the UWindsor Lancers under the leadership of the late Dennis Fairall.

Lately he's focused on working with young women, many new to Canada, to encourage them to develop athletically in track events.

A virtual conference during The Women Can Summit Series held in November provided guidance to empower women and minorities to pursue a career in coaching.
