As an adjunct to your children’s Jewish education, please consider sending your children to the URJ Eisner, Crane Lake Camp and the new Six Points Sci-Tech Camps... These full-service summer camps will offer your children an unforgettable experience, which will change their lives. The camps located in the Berkshire mountains offer numerous program options for children as young at 7. Further information about camp as well as scholarships is available from the school office. We will hold a special program about camp and a representative of the camps will be with us that morning to talk more about camping and the programs offered.

Thanksgiving Tradition!

Interfaith Community Thanksgiving Service at Old Ship Church,
107 Main Street, Hingham

A tradition of over 100 years continues this Thanksgiving as members and friends from many faith communities in Hingham and Hull gather to celebrate Thanksgiving at the annual Interfaith Community Thanksgiving Service, sponsored by the Hingham Hull Religious Leaders Association. The service will be at the Old Ship Church, Unitarian Universalist, 90 Main Street in Hingham, on Wednesday evening, November 27, at 7:00. The public is warmly invited to attend the service, as well as to a time of fellowship at the First Baptist Church, directly across the street, following the service.

This year’s preacher will be the current president of the Hingham Hull Religious Leaders Association, Rev. Sara Holland, minister of Christian Education at Hingham Congregational Church. Additional participants in the service include clergy and other leaders from many Jewish, Christian, and Unitarian Universalist communities. Choral music will be led by Rev. Geoffrey Hicks, the Minister of Music at First Baptist Church of Hingham, along with Christopher Nickelson-Mann, the Music Director at Old Ship Church.

The evening’s offering will be given to the Diane Edson Fund of Wellspring, the social service agency in Hull which provides a food pantry, literacy education, counseling, and many other services. The Edson Fund is used exclusively for direct fuel and food assistance to those in need. There will also be a collection of canned goods and other non-perishable and personal care items, which will donated to the Wellspring food pantry.

All are invited to this service to join hearts in the spirit of Thanksgiving, to affirm our spiritual unity which transcends our differences in religion and background, and to share in our offering to assist those in need.

Old Ship is wheelchair accessible and has a sound system to assist those with hearing impairment. For further information about this service, you may contact Old Ship’s office at 781-749-1679, 9:00 – 2:00 weekdays; office@oldshipchurch.org .
Brunch and a Movie: Heading Home
Sunday, December 15 at 9am

at Congregation Sha'aray Shalom
HEADING HOME: THE TALE OF TEAM ISRAEL is the David-and-Goliath story of Israel's national baseball team as it competes for the first time in the World Baseball Classic. After years of crushing defeats, Israel finally ranks among the world's best in 2017. Its roster includes many Jewish-American major leaguers, most with a tenuous relationship to Judaism, barely any ever having set foot in Israel. Their odyssey takes them from the Holy Land where they are hailed as modern-day Maccabees to the tournament in South Korea where they must debunk their reputations as has-beens and wannabes. The connection to Israel that the players forge pushes them to unexpected heights as they represent the country on the world stage.

 and wishing them well!!
Dear Families,

We’d like to reach out to our college-age kids by sending them a little “Chanukah care Package”, just to let them know that we are thinking of them and wishing them good luck in their studies and final exams.

Please send me your child’s mailing address at college for this year (or other program location – within the USA, please).

I will be sending the packages the first week in December, so please email me their information soon.

Also, any ideas or suggestions for small items to be included in the package are welcome.

Thanks so much!

Annette

60th Anniversary Celebration
"Production Team"
We are starting to plan for our celebratory 60th weekend in May, which includes an updated version of our temple shows. While we are not in "casting call" mode yet, we are looking for a few good men (and women) to be part of our "production team", which will begin to brainstorm, envision, and plan what is doable, what we hope to accomplish, and how to best make it happen.
The planning is a process and we want to include all voices. If you wish to be a part of this team, let us know. We welcome your ideas and input and look forward to hearing from you.

For those who wish to be on stage, stay tuned for a casting call to take place in January.
