Devotion
... But He is Risen!
We are struggling with being at home......but He has risen!
We are missing our friends and family.....but He has risen!
We are grieving the loss of events that were important to us....but He has risen!
We are stressed over loss of jobs and online schooling....but He has risen!
We are feeling anxious over this unpredictable virus......but He has risen!
We are hurting because people are sick and dying.....but He has risen!

Why is the fact that "He has risen" the antidote to all that is wrong in this world?  Because it makes all this sadness, stress, and grief temporary. Whatever may happen now on earth is only a drop in the bucket of time as Christ's death and resurrection has procured for us eternal life with Him in perfect health, perfect joy, and perfect peace.  He has done it all for us.

Jesus said,  "I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world."  (John 6:51)

He is risen!  He is risen indeed, Alleluia!
~ Dr. Lisa Meyers
Need to Know
Valley Video Update
Dr. Brandt shares an important video message to our Valley parents about God's promise to us, third quarter grades, student accounts, and more.  Please click here to watch it.
Third Quarter Grades Emailed Today
Due to an unforeseen issue with My Student Data, parents and student cannot access grades as they have in the past. Third quarter grades have been emailed to each family  regardless of the status of tuition accounts.  We think it is especially important that students have a clear understanding of their grades as they enter the 4th quarter which is all eLearning.
The email subject will be Third Quarter Grade Reports. If you do not see this email in your inbox, please check your SPAM folder before contacting Valley. If you do not have a current email on file, you may need to reach out to us.
If you do not receive an email containing third quarter grades, please contact Guidance Counselor Mrs. Lindsay Mueller for assistance.
How are You?

Have you asked the question "How are You?" lately?

Likely, you have. As we spend more time socially distanced from others, the answer to "How are You?" has probably changed from mid-March to present. As we spend more time socially distanced, we may hear and see our children show their answer to "How are You?" in their moods and behaviors. As we spend more time socially distanced, we may recognize that our children need help navigating those feelings and may even need someone besides us to talk to.
Click on the COVID Behavior Iceberg (or image at left) to read more about what your student's behaviors may mean during this COVID isolation. Know that the teachers and staff at VL is here to help, too.
Parent AP Information

DUAL ENROLLMENT

MME TESTING
As of April 2nd, MME testing will not be taking place this spring. Some media outlets are speculating that testing will take place in the Fall of 2020, but we have not had that confirmed yet from the State of Michigan. We will keep you posted as we receive confirmed information. JUNIORS - see below for information on the SAT/ACT.

AP TESTING
AP Testing will be taking place this year, but in a different format. Information from CollegeBoard will be sent out to all students who have registered for an AP exam. AP has provided a number of resources to help students prepare for these important exams. Our AP teachers have been communicating with their students as well. Students can find more information at https://apstudents.collegeboard.org/coronavirus-updates .

2019-2020 Yearbook
Will there be a 2019-20 Yearbook? Yes! So far, the delivery of the books is on-time from the printing factories. We will keep you updated as to the distribution of them toward the end of May/beginning of June.  I am so proud of the amazing team that finished before the deadline just to make sure our students would be able to have a book this year. If you see them, please thank these young ladies for their time and amazing dedication to their Valley family: Emma VanTol, Brooklyn Kuhl, Brianna Pike, Allison Sowatsky, and Sarah Roberts. This group is advised by  Jennifer Blake.
Dr. Brandt Ministry Celebration Cancelled
The ministry celebration event for Dr. Brandt scheduled for May 16, 2020 has been cancelled. A Valley Lutheran staff member will be in contact with everyone who has already purchased tickets for the celebration event.
Valley Lutheran still plans to hold a celebration event, just not until after the social distancing ban is lifted. Keep an eye out for details on that in the upcoming months. Thank you for your understanding.
