Dear SMCS Parents,

Thank you for a great week! It is hard to believe that our first quarter ends next week and that we have the Halloween Carnival on Friday after school.

On Wednesday, we sent out an update to our COVID policy. If you need did not see the email, it is available here. Nurse Diaz and I would like to make a clarification about masking:

Wearing a mask during the day at school does not mean your child will never be quarantined. If exposed to COVID and the student has been within six feet of the COVID positive individual for more than 15 minutes in a 24 hour period, the masked child will be put in quarantine from attending class. The mask may help minimize exposure to the virus but is not a 100% guarantee. If the mask wearer is the individual that tests positive, the mask will minimize the spread of the virus.

Don't forget to buy your Take-a-Chance tickets and pre-order your food for the Halloween Carnival. Special thanks to all of the PLUS volunteers who are helping with Take-a-Chance and the Halloween carnival. These are very special SMCS traditions that we are glad to have.
