Nasma is an International Baccalaureate (IB) student, a core member of the Black Student Union, Co-President/Founder of Inderkum’s Muslim Student Association, a member of National Honor Society, French Honor Society, and Book Club, and a leader in Link Crew.

In addition to her involvement in campus, Nasma is the chair for a local youth philanthropy group called the ‘Grants Advisory Board for Youth’ (G.A.B.Y.) and the Co-President and Co-Founder of Youth Voices Sacramento small advocacy-based non-profit for youth.

Looking forward, Nasma hopes to cultivate her passion for community betterment and service by putting her energy into pursuing a higher education, which will help her in her future work as an attorney.

Schools Planning to Host Virtual Back to School Nights

At the beginning of the school year, each school site hosts Back to School Night for families to have an opportunity to meet their student’s teachers and to learn more about the school, resources available for students and families, as well as ways for families to be connected and engaged at their student’s school. This is a tradition that we always look forward to each year in Natomas Unified.

We will continue that tradition; however, based on the COVID case rates right now and continuing concerns about air quality, we have decided to hold Back to School Nights virtually. While we were hoping to be able to host them in-person this school year, we have decided to take this precaution for the safety of families and staff.

Principals will begin communicating specifics, including the dates and times, for their virtual back to school nights soon. Unfortunately, as we’ve mentioned before, the pandemic is still with us, and there will be adjustments and changes to our traditions and routines when necessary. We thank you for being flexible and adjusting with us.
