Multi-Factor Authentication Update - Duo Security
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) was implemented to provide an extra layer of protection for District accounts. There have been numerous instances where a user's account has been compromised and there was an attempt to access information that MFA blocked. Duo security will be the new MFA system for the District. More information, set-up guides for installing the Duo app and training will be available in the coming weeks. All District users will be required to switch from the current Microsoft MFA system to Duo. Click  here for more detailed information. Thank you for assisting in keeping our student and staff information safe.

Eastside Kinder Fair
The eastside Kindergarten Fair is taking place on Thursday, April 25, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Witch Hazel Elementary School, 4950 SE Davis Rd. The event offers free food and a free book for each incoming kinder, fun literacy and math activities, registration information, community resources, and more. Though not required, pre-registration will allow us to better serve attendees.

Proposed Budget Reductions for 2019-20
At a special session on Tuesday, April 16, the Board and Budget Committee discussed options for managing a projected shortfall of $9.6 million in the 2019-20 school year. The shortfall estimate is based on the Governor's recommended statewide K-12 allocation of $8.972 billion for the 2019-21 biennium. Although the Legislature is discussing mechanisms for increasing the K-12 allocation and creating a School Improvement Fund, districts need to solidify budget assumptions in the spring to determine staffing and meet state-required budget adoption deadlines.
