Winners of the 2019 HPED Holiday Display Contest

For the second year in a row the winner in the “Most Beautiful Window” category is Renee’ James Boutique at 10 E. Eagle Road in Oakmont. Judge Rudy Miller shares her appreciation of the display, "Renee James' window is always attractive, but during the Holidays it really sparkles. The charming display is well lit and I love the red, black, and white color palette. The matching snowflake patterned pillow and stockings help to dress up the window that features pretty red and black holiday outfits."

HPED Welcomes 3 Way Street Skate Shop

HPED would like to welcome 3 Way Street Skate Shop to Haverford Township. Owner, Rob Tierney opened his store at 2339 Darby Road in mid-November. Rob says that he has had a successful first few weeks of business and hopes that carries over into the new year.

Rob currently lives in Drexel Hill with his wife and three children. He loves the business-friendly environment here in Havertown and the walkable location of his new store. “Every day at about 2:45 I get a bunch of friendly faces that stop in to chat and check out our stuff on their way home from school,” says Rob. He grew up skateboarding and he still enjoys going out to skate as often as possible, which makes his store is a shop for skaters by skaters. He got into collecting skateboards because of the artwork and it grew from there. His store offers a variety of products that you can see and try out, which is what he says “offers an experience that can’t be matched with on-line shopping.“

Rob looks forward to building repeat customers and growing his business. In the future, he would love to invite pro-skaters to the store and maybe even put on skating demos at some of our local Havertown Festivals.
