RESOURCE HIGHLIGHT
Well-being of Children and Youth
The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has been a major source of unease and stress for families across the world and throughout Alaska. Job loss, virus concerns, school and child care cancellations, and changes to necessary services, are only a few of the major changes we are seeing due to COVID-19. Children are at high risk during these isolated and stressful times. Being sheltered-in-place and away from school and friends can be stressful for all children and youth.

The Alaska Department of Health & Social Services has created a webpage to provide information and helpful links to keep Alaska’s children and youth safe and connected. All children deserve to have their basic needs met and to feel safe and cared for. If you know of a child that is scared, feeling unsafe, or appears to be neglected, or if members of their family are hurting each other, call 911 or the Child Abuse Hotline at 1.800.478.4444.

RECENT NEWS & ALERTS
COVID-19 RESOURCES
It is imperative that our tribal citizens continue to hunker down and shelter in place, follow federal, state, tribal and local health mandates, and stay informed on the COVID-19 pandemic to keep ourselves and our families safe.

Tlingit & Haida's Tribal Emergency Operations Center (TEOC)
The Tribal Emergency Operations Center (TEOC) was created to enable Tlingit & Haida to provide timely, integrated, and coordinated responses to the Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic that addresses the four phases of emergency management: mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery. The activation of the TEOC is not due to any identified cases within the Tribe. All actions are aimed at protecting the safety and well-being of Tlingit & Haida’s citizens, clients, employees and communities.
