“Volunteer” May Be a Frightening Word
"Sometimes at Colorado Senior Lobby we become concerned that when we ask for volunteers or for you to join, that you picture having to be somewhere at a certain time on certain days, or that you must sign up for ‘X’ number of hours each month – and so it starts to look like a ‘JOB’. Be not afraid – there are a number of ways for you to volunteer the time you are willing to give …" – READ MORE

Ongoing Conversations on Ageism
On November 12, 2019, Colorado Senior Lobby and Boomers Leading Change participated in an event, “An Intergenerational Conversation about Ageism”. This event was held in collaboration with Changing the Narrative in Colorado’s “on the same pAGE campaign”.

Changing the Narrative in Colorado, a partnership of NextFifty Initiative and Rose Community Foundation, builds on national work that recognizes Ageism is unfair stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination against people on the basis of their age. It can be directed at younger people or older people. For all ages it reduces opportunities and breaks down communication. Below are resources to learn more about Ageism and the research conducted by Frameworks Institute.
