Schools, centers and organizations are invited to attend this workshop. Become part of the network of sites helping people understand the importance of clean air for better health of our environment and selves. Learn how air is monitored and participate in ways to involve students using outdoor investigations. Participants will receive:

Field Techniques for Environmental Studies -
Learn or brush up on your field techniques to monitor streams, fields, shorelines and other ecosystems. Alberto Mimo will lead you through implementing statistics and recording information for data use with students. Recommended for Middle School, High School, and College level teachers. Informal educators are invited to attend to increase skills in working with data and inventory records. Connecticut’s Changing Forests: Tools and resources for teaching about forest health with Project Learning Tree -
This workshop is designed for middle/high school teachers and non-formal educators who want to include forests in their curriculum. Using nationally recognized curriculum from Project Learning Tree, as well as local experts and guides, we will focus on the influence of gypsy moth in Connecticut’s forests. Teachers will be provided with hands-on lessons and ideas that will help them teach their students about forests while staying aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards.
